Please consider replacing the toilets in the ladies restroom. I believe they are water saving, since it is often impossible to flush all the waste (including just toilet paper) even after several flushes.
In addition, the toilets are so low that it is hard for me (5’1-1/2” to get up easily. Either higher toilets and/or handicap bar would be appreciated.

STAFF RESPONSE:
I personally did an in-depth water analysis of the water in the spa at Canoa Ranch this morning. I also looked at the daily records from the pool operator assigned to maintain the Canoa Ranch pool and spa. We are required by the Pima County Health Department to test all the pools and spas twice a day and record the readings. The readings are recorded on a log sheet that is kept in the pool area so that anyone can look at them. I also reviewed the log sheets from the first of January 2019 to the present day.

In addition, I also conducted a bacteria test on the spa water which is something we do on occasion but it is not required by the Health Department.
Lastly I referred to the work order that was completed for the scheduled routine cleaning on January 15th. of this year to see if my technician noted anything unusual while he was cleaning the spa.

The water chemistry was well within the parameters specified by the Pima County Health Department and well within the parameters of Green Valley Recreation which are much more stringent. The bacteria test which tests for a wide range of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus faecalis, and species of Klebsiella, Salmonella, Clostridium, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Actinomyces, Enterobacter, and Citrobacter. The test for bacteria was negative.

There was no indication on the daily log sheets that there was a chemical imbalance within the last 22 days.

The technician did note on the routine maintenance work order that there was an excessive amount of soap and scum on the plaster and the water line tile. The contamination of our spas with foreign substances had been on increase lately, My staff has reported finding bath oil beads, lotions, shampoos and body washes floating in the water or caught in the skimmers. Introducing these substances can have serious negative effects on the water chemistry and can also damage the spa equipment.

To summarize I cannot find anything that would explain why you have experienced a rash from the spa water at Canoa Ranch, I would suggest that you consult your health care professional if you continue to have this adverse reaction.

Landscape staff trims trees at regular intervals as seasons dictate. Landscape supervisor will inspect the area requested and make adjustments to the trimming schedule if necessary.

Have holiday hours prominently available on website, etc. I checked online before coming, then found offices closed. Tried West Center, East Enter, GVR Admin offices. It was just after 2 PM. Signs in lobby etc. does not mention offices closed early – only East Center office had sign for today’s early closing.

Also suggest you have pens by suggestion and dues drop boxes.

We will try to make signs announcing office closures more predominant in the future.

This AM (Tuesday) I was in the hot tub when a gentleman came in the pool area from the workout area and took his sox and shoes off; however, left his sweat shirt and workout shorts on. He took a 15 second rinse with the pool area shower. I asked him to take a soapy shower before entering the hot tub with his shirt and shorts on, but he refused. He stated that he did this every time he came here. He also stated hundreds of people enter the hot tub and pool with communicable diseases, which makes his routine alright.

Note: First time for me to view this selfish attitude (workout shirt and shorts on) anywhere. Time: 10:45 AM – 11:15 AM

Staff will continue to monitor and inform members on appropriate attire and preparation for pools and spas.
