Kent’s Korner

Several positive key data points emerged from the 2018 GVR member survey results concerning communications. About 70% of survey respondents rated the communication from GVR or about GVR as ‘excellent’ or ‘good’. 75% of respondents either ‘strongly agreed’, or ‘somewhat agreed’ with the statement “I receive news and information about GVR in a timely manner.” 72% of respondents either ‘strongly agreed’, or ‘somewhat agreed’ that “I am informed as I like/need to be about GVR.” 79% of respondents identified our monthly newsletter, GVR Now!, as their top information source.

By any measure, our self-published GVR Now! newsletter is a success, exceeding all expectations. GVR controls 100% of our own editorial content and receives 100% of ad revenue from GVR Now! This non-dues revenue from advertising sales not only covers the cost of GVR Now! production but helps to offset other GVR operating expenses.

Later this summer, expect GVR Communications and Fitness Coordinator Miles Waterbury to lead an effort to garner member input about how we could make GVR Now! even better by adding content that you are most interested in.

GVR Now! is published through a Tucson-based firm and printed in Prescott AZ.
By the end of this summer, using a new and different approach to graphic design/layout, we intend to reduce by a few days the current lead time for printing GVR Now!

We publish around 2,500 (+/-) print editions of GVR Now! in the summer and 5,000 (+/-) in the Fall/Winter. Print quantities are likely to grow as we expand GVR Now!’s availability beyond GVR Centers to include multiple retail and commercial outlets throughout Green Valley where you can pick up a copy of the most recent edition. Currently, all local advertisers have the latest GVR Now! edition on hand and they are available at the Wyndam Canoa Ranch Resort & the Best Western Hotel. GVR Now! is also available for pickup at Silver Springs, Arroyo Gardens, La Posada, and Prestige Assisted Living. We’re adding more distribution site locations soon, and will update you as they become available. So wherever your Green Valley excursions take you, GVR Now! is sure to be close by.

Please remember, if you are out of town or on the road, a link to the electronic GVR Now! is in your Friday GVR eBlast, as well as posted on www.gvrec.org under the ‘News and Info’ tab.
