GVR has six fitness centers open from 5:30am-9:00pm seven days per week:

Resistance Band Small Group Training
Resistance band training is a low impact, safe, and efficient way to build strength, improve flexibility and support balance without weights. The class is oriented toward those seniors who have recently done little or no regular exercise. Small group training will allow each person to get individual attention. Wear loose clothes, sneakers, and bring water. All equipment will be provided. Please come 20 minutes early for the first class.

Parkinson’s Functional Fitness 4 Life
The training program consists of functional movements that target different aspects of fitness, such as high intensity interval training, resistance, flexibility, and balance training. Additionally, the program includes non-contact boxing exercises. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to exercise and Parkinsons disease. Research shows that exercise and physical activity help maintain and improve mobility, flexibility, balance, and quality of life, as well as manage the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (PD).

Boxing training will build fitness, strength, and coordination. This is great cardio workout with some strength exercises built into each session. Lizetta has 15 years of experience as a group fitness instructor for Cardio-Kick Boxing, Boxing, and MMA/TRX.

Personal Training
GVR offers five levels of fitness training to help members get the most out of their fitness center experience.
- Attend a free fitness center orientation at the center you plan to use for your exercise workout. The orientation includes an assessment of your fitness level, a tour of the cardio and strength training equipment, and a group orientation to the adjustments and use of the equipment. Schedules and registration information for orientations are posted in each fitness center.
- Attend a free movement assessment in order to identify potential muscle imbalances surrounding a joint. These alterations can lead to increased stress on the tissue of the joint and lead to eventual injury. The goal is to identify any potential overactive and under active muscles, and create a corrective plan utilizing a corrective exercise continuum.
- Attend a complimentary 30-minute personal training consultation with a GVR Personal Trainer is offered to those who wish to have a personalized fitness program designed for their goals and any medical needs.
- Sign up for personal training. GVR contracts with five certified personal trainers to assist members in pursuing their fitness goals. A variety of personal training packages are available:
- Introductory Personal Training package–$129
Two one-hour appointments to design an individualized cardio and resistance training exercise plan
- One-on-one training
60-minute sessions
- Four sessions-$240
- Ten sessions-$495
30-minute sessions
- Eight sessions-$270
- Twenty sessions-$600
- Small group training sessions are also available with a ratio of one trainer to up to 6 people.

Why not have a little fun while getting into shape? Buddy training adds the benefit of keeping each other accountable while increasing motivation and support.
- One 60-minute session: $45 per person
- Four 60-minute sessions: $320 ($40 session per person)
- Senior Fitness: Program Design for $129
Program Design is aimed at members who want to learn to train on their own, but want guidance to move in the right direction safely and effectively.
Unfortunately, our bodies change with age, and this can have an impact on our function and mobility. Range of motion, balance, coordination and muscle strength can deteriorate over time.
For $129, you receive two, one-hour consultations that will set you up to execute a six-week, individualized training plan on your own. The consultations include:
- complete assessment
- prime and prep warm-up
- corrective exercise strategies (as needed)
- strength training prescription, and
- cardio prescription
Participants will be walked through the details of the program and provided with appropriate form, reps, tempo, sets, and rest periods. The workout schedule is in six-week cycles and based on individual preferences: two-day splits, three-day splits, four-day splits. The goal is to have members become confident and self-sufficient in their quest to reach personal goals.
